Mulling Spices for Mulled Wine, Spiced Cider, Glogg, Spiced Cranberry, Stovetop Home Brewing

Mulling spices are a centuries old tradition during winter and Yule and can be used to make spiced wine, glogg, spiced cider and more. An aromatic blend of fresh warm winter spices including all-organic fresh whole cloves, allspice, cinnamon, lemon peel, orange peel and cardamon pods. Mulling spices should be placed in a large tea infuser or in a small piece of cheesecloth for brewing.
In a medium sized pot, slowly simmer 1 quart red wine, 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar (to taste), and 2 Tbs. Mulling Spices for up to 20 minutes. Remove the spices and serve the wine hot in mugs garnished with fresh oranges, berries and cinnamon sticks. You can also chill and serve over ice.
In a medium sized pot, slowly simmer 1 quart apple cider and 2 Tbs. Mulling Spices for up to 20 minutes. Remove the spices and serve the cider hot in mugs garnished with fresh oranges, cherries and cinnamon sticks. The cider is excellent with a jigger of rum or brandy added per cup.

To use as an aromatic home brew, fill a cauldron or simmering pot with about 1-1/2 to 2 cups of water. Add the Mulling Spices and simmer on low heat. If simmering for a longer period of time, make sure to add more water.
